"And the billing just never made sense"
my bill kept changing from month to month and no one could really explain where the extra charges were coming from.

"Still haven’t heard back"
Reached out to support and still waiting for someone to get back to me. Not sure what else to do at this point.

"The modem felt flimsy right out..."
The modem felt flimsy right out of the box, and getting it set up was way more frustrating than it should’ve been. The app kept freezing, the lights on the device weren’t clear at all, and when I contacted support, they basically just told me to restart it. For something people rely on every day, I feel like the company has a responsibility to provide decent equipment and real help, not leave customers guessing.

"Internet still isn’t activated..."
The installation was a mess, and my internet still isn’t working?! I expected it to be up and running after the installer left, but nope — still not activated.

"Couldn’t even get an install scheduled"
I checked availability and it said service was available, but then trying to schedule anything was just a mess. The earliest install date kept changing, and uh, nobody seemed able to give me a clear answer. I ended up wasting time waiting around for nothing. Definitely not a great first impression

"Feels too expensive for what it is"
Quantum Fiber just feels a bit too pricey for what you actually get. I mean, the bill shows up every month and it doesn’t really feel like a good value, you know? I expected a little more for the money, so it’s getting hard to justify keeping it.

"Slower than I expected"
The speeds were a lot lower than I was hoping for, and I kept running into laggy pages and buffering while streaming. It felt inconsistent most days. I did reach out to support, but the issue didn’t really get fixed for me, though I’ll say they weren’t rude or anything, it just didn’t solve the problem

"Internet keeps dropping, and support feels careless"
The speed is decent when it actually stays connected, but the internet drops way too often. Some nights it cuts out multiple times and I end up unplugging and restarting everything just to get back online. It’s been really frustrating while working from home. What bothers me even more is that support keeps saying everything looks fine, like they’re barely checking or just brushing it off. It feels careless, because from my side this connection is definitely not reliable

Quantum Fiber Q&A

How do you contact Centurylink to get your cable cancelled. My friend, 80 yrs old no longer lives at his old address. Please help.

How can I cancel an installation that hasn't occurred yet?

CliffordKnight

“I would strongly advise against paying your bill to Centurylink. Their customer service is absolutely abysmal, possibly the worst you can find anywhere. If you want to effectively cancel any services with them, the best approach is to withhold payment. Refrain from giving them any money, and eventually they will understand your dissatisfaction.”

Is it possible for me to buy your modem instead of renting it?

“I wouldn't recommend either option. Centurylink's routers are notorious for being the absolute worst in the world. They are essentially designed to fail, and no matter which one you choose, it won't last longer than six months. If you're unfortunately stuck with Centurylink and in need of a reliable router, I suggest heading to Best Buy and seeking out a Netgear router. The staff there can assist you in setting it up properly.”
